Transformative financing for the achievement of the gender equality by 2030, Bangkok, Feb 2016
Asia-Pacific Regional Seminar on Transformative financing for the achievement of the gender equality by 2030, in preparation for the 60th session of Committee on the Status of Women to be held in New York in March 2016.
UN Women Asia and the Pacific, UNESCAP and UNDP, have jointly convened an Asia-Pacific Regional Seminar on “Transformative financing for the achievement of the gender equality by 2030”, in preparation for the 60th session of Committee on the Status of Women to be held in New York in March 2016. The seminar was held at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok on 18-19th February 2016. The overall objective of the seminar was to bring together Asian and Pacific Member-States, multi-lateral and bi-lateral partners, practitioners and technical experts to share and deepen their knowledge on aspects of financing for gender equality and propose recommendations for enhancing attention to and, investment in financing for gender equality, including in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Dr. Lekha Chakraborty, Associate Professor, NIPFP was invited as resource person to speak on "Fiscal Innovations: A Plausible Framework of GRB" at the seminar.
